Preparation - Application

It’s impossible to overstate the importance of preparation when it comes to getting a good finish.
Ensuring that your timber is smooth, clean and dry is vital for achieving the best possible result.
Using one of our abrasives will help you, whether you choose a cloth backed or loop backed version or our excellent Net Abrasive. Follow on with NyWeb for an exceptionally smooth finish, with the option of wet sanding as well on all of these.
Clean off with Tack Cloth to remove any unwanted debris and you’re good to go.

Choosing the right application method is important too. Safety Cloth is invaluable on the lathe and provides an even coating effortlessly.
Foam Brushes are indispensable for applying acrylics but they work superbly with other finishes too.
Traditional Stockinette is still useful for working on large areas and its fine texture ensures a smooth, even coating.
